Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship - Welcome From the Director

Welcome to the University of Cincinnati Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, and thank you for your interest in addiction-specialty fellowship training programs within the department’s Addiction Sciences Division. Fellows in our programs are exposed to a rich assortment of clinical environments as they intermingle in their shared clinical and didactic experiences.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience was ranked 14th nationally for NIH funding in 2008 and is one of the fastest-rising departments in the U.S., with one of the very largest psychiatric pharmaceutical research programs.

Fellowship faculty are comprised of addiction specialists from multiple disciplines, dedicated to quality patient care, teaching and scholarly activity.

Our primary training center, the Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, is a JCAHO-certified 115 acute bed hospital providing five levels of care: primary, secondary, tertiary, restorative and extended.

Fellows also rotate in non-VA settings dealing with topics relating to maternal-fetal issues, African-American women, women and family and adolescents.
