Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship - Curriculum
Rotations
A substantial portion of the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship training time is spent rotating in the Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This experiences is augmented with significant time spent in a variety of VA clinical specialty settings, ensuring adequate exposure to a wide array of patients.
The rotations include• Inpatient Geriatric psychiatry unit
- Outpatient Mental Health Clinic
- Long term care
- Alois Alzheimer Center, Community Nursing home
- Home Base Primary Care
- Geriatric Medicine / Cognitive Disorder Clinic
- Hospice & Palliative Care
- Sleep Clinic Rotation
- Geriatric Consultation & Liaison
Didactics
Didactic Curriculum includes monthly geriatric psychiatry seminar, case conference, and Journal clubs, which covers the areas of General principal of geriatric Psychiatry, Neurobiology and Psychopharmacology of geriatric depression and dementia and other disorders, administrative Issues and research.
