Center for Imaging Research
The Center for Imaging Research, located on the E-Level of the Medical Sciences Building, is a College of Medicine core facility dedicated to the in vivo study of human anatomy and physiology.
Its primary mission is to provide imaging research capabilities to scientific investigators at UC from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience and other departments.
The centerpiece of the CIR is a 4.0 Tesla Varian Unity INOVA Whole Body MRI/MRS system providing sufficient flexibility for fMRI with echoplanar imaging and other fast imaging methods.
Stephen Strakowski, MD, the Dr. Stanley and Mickey Kaplan Professor and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, is director of the Center for Imaging Research.
