Cognitive Disorders Center
The Cognitive Disorders Center is affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience and, through its clinical division, serves individuals with known or suspected cognitive disorders and related psychological, behavioral, academic or occupational difficulty.
Unidentified and/or untreated cognitive disorders often are important factors in behavior and personality problems and in emotional distress, including depression and anxiety.
One mission of the center is to provide comprehensive cognitive neuropsychological evaluations and, when indicated, to refer patients for one or more forms of treatment and/or remediation.
Examples of conditions that might be evaluated include learning and attentional problems (in children, adolescents and adults), seizure disorder, head injury, stroke and progressive dementing disorders.
Robert Krikorian, PhD, is director of the Cognitive Disorders Center.
